Who runs this site
Microsoft 365 Backup is a website of Forever Systems, part of Forever Group. We use it to explain the products and services it covers and to help you get a quote that fits your organisation.
What this site covers
The main sections of Microsoft 365 Backup are:
- Shared responsibility: What Microsoft protects in Microsoft 365, what stays with you, and why that means backup.
- Backup vs retention: Why retention policies, holds, versions and recycle bins are not the same as a backup.
- Retention policies: How Microsoft Purview retention policies and labels work, and why they are not a restore tool.
- Recycle bin: How long Microsoft 365 keeps deleted mail, files, sites, teams and users, and what happens next.
- Best practices: A practical checklist for Microsoft 365 backup, aligned with NCSC guidance.
- Pricing: How each Microsoft 365 backup option is charged, and what drives the cost.
- Microsoft 365 Backup: Microsoft's own backup for OneDrive, SharePoint and Exchange, explained.
- Compare backup: The five platforms we supply and Microsoft 365 Backup, side by side.
- Providers: The five Microsoft 365 backup platforms we supply, and how we choose one with you.
- What to back up: Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams and Entra ID: native safety nets and what a backup adds.
The site map lists every page.
How we write our pages
We write our pages from each provider's product documentation. Each page shows the date it was last updated at the foot of the page. Prices and terms depend on your organisation, so we confirm them at quote.
